Christian Horner furious with Yuki Tsunoda
The Red Bull team principal is upset with AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda after a move that allegedly prevented one of his drivers from achieving pole position.

During the third part of the qualifying session, Yuki Tsunoda took the escape route in the second sector of the track to let the Red Bull drivers pass behind him. The first to arrive on the scene is Sergio Perez, who was taken by surprise and aborted his attempt. Max Verstappen, on the other hand, continued his attempt but could not improve his third place on the grid.
After the qualifications, Christian Horner did not hide his dissatisfaction with the Japanese driver on SkySports microphone.
» I think we got Tsunoda! Both drivers were ahead on their final lap. Max had a two and a half tenth lead, and Checo almost two tenths. I don’t understand why [Tsunoda] was driving slowly in this part of the circuit. It’s disappointing because it affected both drivers and they are both very annoyed. But we are still on the second row of the grid and can have a very good race from there.
On his side, the main person involved in this story believes he is not responsible for their underperformance and that the Red Bull drivers got themselves into this situation on their own.
« I didn’t mess up the Red Bull. It’s just an error on their part. I went outside [the track] and I couldn’t do more than that. I mean, I don’t know, where should I have gone? I will discuss with Red Bull, but I don’t think I did anything wrong. »
