Christian Horner: (e) Win the championship on the track
The Red Bull team principal hopes that the title will be decided fairly and not awarded following a collision as Toto Wolff believes.

This week, Mercedes executive director Toto Wolff shared his perspective on the awarding of the world champion title. The Austrian believes that the crown will be given following a collision a la Prost/Senna (the two drivers collided in Japan in 1989 and 1990, which led to Prost and then Senna winning the title).
This Friday, during the press conference, Christian Horner was invited to respond to comments made by his counterpart at Mercedes. “I was disappointed to read the comments suggesting that [a collision] would be tolerated,” said the British director.
But I think we want a really fair fight by the end of the championship and any driver would want to win the championship on the track. We are a team of competitors and if we can achieve this feat – and it’s a huge task – then we wouldn’t want to win a championship through a collision between drivers. There have already been enough of them [Silverstone and Monza].
« I think what we saw in Austin was a great battle between two very talented drivers, and with a few more races like Austin before the end of the year, I think the biggest winner will be Formula 1. No one wants to see a championship decided in the gravel trap,” he concluded.
On the eve of the race in Mexico, Max Verstappen is leading his championship rival, Lewis Hamilton, by 12 points.
