Vettel hopes that Red Bull does not prevent Perez from winning on Sunday
Sebastian Vettel took a stand against team orders. The German driver hopes that this kind of decision does not ruin a potential victory for Sergio Perez, at his home Grand Prix in Mexico.

In the midst of the title battle, the Red Bull team may face a tricky situation at the Mexico Grand Prix. While every point matters for Max Verstappen, his teammate Sergio Perez will be determined to win his home Grand Prix. But team orders could come into play during the race if Perez is leading and his teammate is second. Sebastian Vettel has spoken out on the matter and hopes that Red Bull will not issue team orders.
« I’m not a fan of team orders, […] I think it’s bad and I would be in favor of never having them, », Vettel explains to Autosport.com.
Strategic decisions and position exchanges between drivers are part of the teams’ strategy even if it sometimes leads to a lot of frustration for the teammate experiencing it. The Aston Martin driver therefore hopes that Red Bull lets the race and driving do the talking.
« If Checo (Perez) is in front, then he should stay in front, said Vettel.
Red Bull will have a tough time making the right decision that will best suit the team during the Mexico Grand Prix this Sunday.
