The first winter tests of 2022 in Barcelona will not be broadcast
The first winter tests taking place in Barcelona in 2022 will not be broadcast on television. This decision by F1 aims to create more excitement and anticipation for the winter tests in Bahrain, which will be televised.

As the 2021 season draws to a close, F1 is already thinking about the next one with the upcoming pre-season testing. It has notably decided not to broadcast the first three days of winter testing, which will take place in Barcelona from February 23 to 25. However, the Bahrain tests scheduled for March 11 to 13 will be covered by various media outlets and television channels.
This decision was made following the success of those from the 2021 season, which had been widely covered by the media. F1 therefore hopes to generate excitement for the Bahrain tests by limiting the coverage of the Barcelona tests. The latter will only be covered in writing through a summary of the day’s events published in the evening.
An enthusiasm that could be greatly boosted by the novelties represented by the 2022 cars. As a reminder, this revolution of F1 cars in 2022 is due to the new technical regulations aimed at increasing the spectacle and reducing the performance gap between the cars. New sporting and financial regulations are also being added, notably with the budget cap proposal, which offers greater financial equity among the teams.
