McLaren wants to bounce back in Austin

During the Turkish Grand Prix, Lando Norris and McLaren were missing. The British team completely missed their weekend, even though they were on a good streak. Zak Brown’s team had managed to win at Monza thanks to Daniel Ricciardo, before Lando Norris secured his first pole position in Russia.

It is with a lot of determination that Lando Norris hopes to bounce back and erase the bad memory of the race at Istanbul Park: « I’m looking forward to being back in America this weekend, where we will try to bounce back after the result in Turkey. Austin is known for its great atmosphere and I’m sure it will be the same this year with super passionate fans. The fight is still ongoing in the constructors’ championship, so we have to keep pushing,” he says.

« COTA is one of the most exciting circuits on the calendar. Even though the track has elements from other F1 tracks, it still feels like a unique place to race. I participated in a virtual race around COTA last year with the Arrow McLaren SP team during the pandemic, which was very fun, but I look forward to racing there for real in an F1 car after two years. I hope it will be a good weekend for us.

Daniel Ricciardo impatient

On his part, Daniel Ricciardo is delighted to be in the United States after a one-year hiatus, on one of the best tracks we can race on.

The Australian is also looking forward to racing this weekend, as he will have the chance to drive his idol Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

To top off the weekend, I will also be behind the wheel of Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Wrangler. He is one of my big heroes, so being able to drive one of his cars will be a surreal moment and a bit of a dream come true. A big thank you to Zak for holding up his end of the deal and making this possible. I can’t wait!
