Daniel Ricciardo named driver of the day at Monza
In addition to the victory and the fastest lap in the race, Daniel Ricciardo was awarded the title of Driver of the Day of the Italian Grand Prix.

It was a perfect weekend for the McLaren driver. First in qualifying, the Australian managed to place his car in 5th position, before finishing 3rd in the Qualification Sprint. Taking advantage of the penalty imposed on Valtteri Bottas, the Honey Badger started from the front row of the Italian Grand Prix.
From the start, it was a great day for Daniel Ricciardo who took the best possible start and was able to overtake his friend Max Verstappen, who started from pole position. Thanks to the top speed of the McLaren, the Australian was not worried by his former teammate who could never pose a threat to the winner of the day.
With the incident between the two championship leaders, the only threat that remained was Lando Norris, but McLaren refused to swap positions between the two men. Towards the end of the race, Ricciardo increased his pace and secured the point for the fastest lap in the race.
With this new victory, Daniel Ricciardo has won for the 8th time, the first since the Monaco Grand Prix 2018.
