6,449 COVID-19 screening tests, 15 positive cases in Belgium
6,449 COVID-19 screening tests were conducted during the week of the Belgian Grand Prix. 15 people tested positive.

As for each race week, the FIA communicates the figures related to COVID-19. The pandemic is still ongoing and Formula 1 plays a crucial role in its monitoring. It is important for the FIA and F1 to be transparent about this. Between Monday, August 23 and Sunday, August 29 in Belgium, 6,449 screening tests were carried out on drivers, teams, and personnel. Among them, 15 people tested positive.
We notice a constant increase in positive cases compared to the last race. In Hungary, 8 people tested positive out of 5,645 tests. This development comes just after the summer break, when all staff traveled to several places around the world. The pandemic is present everywhere.
Note that FIA staff, F1 personnel, and journalists undergo testing at least every five days to be present at the Grand Prix. A driver who tests positive cannot participate in a race.
