Mick Schumacher with a special helmet at Spa
The Haas driver will pay tribute to his father at the Belgian Grand Prix. Schumi Junior has taken over the design of the seven-time world champion's helmet to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of his first race.

This weekend, the most nostalgic fans will rediscover a helmet that they had the chance to admire 30 years ago. On the occasion of the Belgian Grand Prix which is taking place at the end of August, Mick Schumacher brought a special helmet that features the design of his father’s, which he used in 1991.
That year, Michael Schumacher participated in his first Grand Prix, on the same Spa-Francorchamps circuit, at the wheel of the Jordan 191. The German took advantage of Bertrand Gachot’s troubles with the British justice system after an altercation with a taxi to take the wheel of an F1.
Earlier in the week, the Haas driver had stated that driving in Spa was special for him for several reasons.
Not only because of my father’s history, but also because I’ve had some good races here.
« [I realized] my first pole position and [won] my first victory in 2018 here with F3, which then became a series of several victories, so definitely yes, it’s a circuit that I appreciate a lot. I like coming back here. It’s close to home. Many fans come here and people who have been supporting me for many years now, so it’s a great place. », he admitted.
