Sebastian Vettel "bitter" after his disqualification in Hungary
Sebastian Vettel breaks the silence and speaks out about his disqualification in Hungary. He is still bitter about the decision by the FIA.

He had not spoken since his disqualification in Hungary. Sebastian Vettel finally breaks the silence before the start of the weekend in Belgium. His joy turned to sadness after the podium. The FIA had decided to disqualify him because his car did not contain at least one liter of fuel as required by the regulations. This led to a summer saga between Aston Martin and the race stewards. Ultimately, the evidence provided by the English team was not so relevant, and the team unexpectedly withdrew its appeal.
He had delivered a brilliant performance in Hungary by securing a almost unexpected second place considering his erratic season. However, the German may feel bitter after this decision. But the rules are there for a reason and must be respected.
« It’s very bitter. There was no intention, or no way we could really explain why there was little fuel in the car. Something happened during the race. A leak or something similar so that the fuel was simply no longer there.
Vettel looks back on the last decisive lap. His team then realizes too late that there was no longer enough fuel in the car. The driver loses many points in the championship.
We discovered in the last round that something might not be right and we were very surprised to see that there was no fuel in the car. It’s very bitter, but those are the rules and we have to accept and move on. It was a very big day and big points for us, but there are still many races ahead.
This decision cost Aston Martin 18 points. They had a chance to finish fifth in the standings, despite Esteban Ocon’s victory. The English team is currently seventh with 48 points, 20 points behind AlphaTauri. The four-time world champion promises to collect important points during the rest of the season.
« It’s a hard blow. We are 20 points behind. We never know when the next opportunity will arise and we must be there to seize it. There are many races this year, so we will have our chances so I hope we can make use of them.
