In 100 years, the layout has constantly evolved. At its creation, the track measured 14.981 kilometers and had the shape of a triangle connecting Francorchamps, Malmedy, and Stavelot, before being gradually reduced to reach the distance of 7.004 kilometers today.
The first race that the Belgian circuit was supposed to organize is a car race, but only one participant showed up. To make up for this lack, the Belgian Motorcycling Federation is taking the lead to ensure that a motorcycle race takes place.
