Christian Lundgaard will make his debut in IndyCar
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announced that Christian Lundgaard will make his debut in IndyCar this weekend in Indianapolis. A first for the young F2 driver.
A first for Christian Lundgaard. The young F2 driver will make his debut with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) team for the Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix at the Indianapolis circuit on August 14. The Danish driver recently tested an IndyCar for the first time with the Barbe Motorsports Park team on July 26. Lundgaard is a member of the Alpine Academy, created by the Alpine F1 Team.

In a press release, Alpine is satisfied with the work done by Christian during his first test. The team is looking forward to seeing him perform on the Indianapolis track.
« We are very satisfied with the work done by Christian Lundgaard during our recent test at Barber Motorsports Park and we are looking forward to seeing him perform at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It’s going to be a new experience and a big challenge due to the lack of training time compared to other races. The road course is very similar to European circuits since it was designed for Formula 1 and Grand Prix races, so I think it will be less of a problem than going to one of our more traditional INDYCAR race tracks.
The same goes for the main person concerned. He considers himself very lucky to have this opportunity and feels ready to take on this new challenge.
« I have been very lucky so far in my career to drive incredible race cars and I can’t wait to officially add INDYCAR to that list. In preparation for this race, I have tested the car and it was really great, and I’m sure it will feel even better during a race weekend in race conditions alongside all the extremely talented drivers on the field. There has been a lot of work to get there and to prepare as best as possible, and I feel ready to take on the challenge.
