Esteban Ocon received advice from Lance Stroll before the race
The French driver admitted that he had been advised by his friend Lance Stroll before the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix. This discussion turned out to be helpful as the Alpine driver won the race.

This weekend, Formula 1 crowned its 111th Grand Prix winner. After a magnificent race, Esteban Ocon made the Marseillaise echo at the Hungaroring.
French driver took advantage of the strike caused by Valtteri Bottas at the first turn to make his way through all the struggling cars. After the race, the Alpine driver revealed that his friend Lance Stroll had given him some advice on how to make a good start in perilous conditions, as was the case on Sunday.
« Yes, we had a discussion with Lance before the race because he is an excellent starter in races and he likes these conditions as much as I do. Normally, we always finish closer to the front in these conditions and he warned me that it would be easy to make a mistake when starting.
», said the new F1 winner.
Making a mistake was the thing to avoid to come out unscathed from this first turn. While he had warned Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll himself made a mistake at the first corner and hooked the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc, forcing both drivers to retire. For this maneuver, the Canadian received a 5-place penalty at the next GP in Spa.
The Alpine driver also stated that he was happy that his friend had avoided him in the first turn chaos and that this incident allowed him to position himself well in order to win his first victory.
« I am happy that he avoided me. He opened up the way a little for me, so I got a bit lucky, I’m glad I was able to stay behind Lewis (Hamilton) after that.
