It was one of the Frenchman’s wishes. After a good start to the season, Esteban Ocon experienced a rough patch, especially in Austria, where he failed to get out of Q1. After some mediocre performances, the Alpine driver had stated that he wanted to start from scratch at Silverstone, changing as many parts on his car as possible.

It is now done since the #31 will have a brand new chassis this weekend, as explained by the executive director of the French team, Marcin Budkowski.

« Esteban had two difficult races in Austria and we are still investigating whether there were any technical reasons to explain this. To dispel any doubts, we have decided to make significant changes to his car for Silverstone, including a new chassis. Esteban delivered some impressive performances at the beginning of the season and earned a spot on the third row in two consecutive races a few weeks ago, so we are all working together to help him bounce back. This weekend is the perfect opportunity to do so.

On his side, Ocon is determined to achieve a good result at Silverstone, on a track where he has always shined. In four participations in the British Grand Prix, the Frenchman has always managed to place himself in the Top 8.

« The three races in France and Austria have not been as successful as hoped. It’s a good thing to go to a completely different circuit to take on a new challenge and start from scratch. The team and I have worked very hard behind the scenes to find out what we could do to improve our performances. I know we will get back to our early season level and the hard work will continue until we do, or even better. I am determined to achieve a good result this weekend, he admitted.
