The race direction has reprimanded Verstappen for his celebration
This Sunday, the way Max Verstappen celebrated his victory at the Styrian Grand Prix didn't please the FIA, which didn't hesitate to point it out to his team.

At the end of the race, Max Verstappen let his joy show after his victory in Styria. Just after crossing the finish line, the Dutch driver significantly reduced his speed and approached the pit wall, where his team was situated. He then did a burnout and left tire marks to celebrate his 4th win of the season.
However, this action did not please the FIA and Michael Masi. Although drivers have the right to celebrate their victories, the place where the Red Bull driver left his tire marks did not please the race management.
At issue is Verstappen’s location, in close proximity to the finish line, with cars coming at full speed behind him. The FIA relied on Article 43.3 of the sporting regulations stating that celebrations must take place « safely and without endangering other drivers or any officials.
The race director, Michael Masi, immediately reacted to this incident and issued a warning to Red Bull. The Australian also specified that this kind of maneuver will no longer be tolerated in the future.
« It was not an ideal situation, that’s why I immediately talked to the team. I told them that it was something that would no longer be tolerated in the future. », declared Michael Masi.
