This year, the all-female discipline has been scheduled to support Formula 1 at 8 Grand Prix races in order to increase the championship’s visibility.

From the launch of the W Series season, at the Styrian Grand Prix (June 26), major broadcasters including Channel 4, Sky Deutschland, Ziggo, RTBF and Canal+ will broadcast the races live. With broadcasting in over 175 countries, the W Series could reach 500 million viewers worldwide.

The Director of Racing, Catherine Bond Mir, is looking forward to this news, and points out that the partnership signed with F1 has allowed W Series to be recognized.

We are thrilled to see such interest in the W Series among major global broadcasters. Our mission is to showcase our fantastic lineup of female drivers and exciting races to as many fans worldwide as possible. This cannot be achieved without the enthusiastic support of a global network of broadcasters.

It is beyond doubt that our partnership with Formula 1 this season has made a difference in the way W Series has been recognized. This has made it much easier to engage with key broadcasters. Furthermore, having a truly international grid of drivers means there is strong support from their respective territories.
