Azerbaijan Grand Prix F2: Robert Shwartzman winner of Sprint Race 1
Robert Shwartzman was not worried during this first race of the weekend, he clinched his first victory of a complicated season for the Prema driver.

Title contender at the beginning of the season, Robert Shwartzman did not falter this Saturday, he started in first position, a position he never left throughout the race. Despite the intervention of the safety car, the Russian always managed to take care of his restart, quickly getting away from his pursuer, Jehan Daruvala, and flying towards his first victory in 2021.
As usual, F2 provided its share of overtaking, helped even more by the DRS. One of the protagonists of the race was English driver Dan Ticktum who, at the wheel of his Carlin, managed to secure second place by overtaking Boschung, Armstrong, Daruvala and championship leader Guanyu Zhou.
Guanyu Zhou strengthens his position as leader in the championship by clinching a very nice 3rd place, he even extends his lead over his runner-up, Théo Pourchaire and Oscar Piastri. Oscar Piastri, the unlucky one in this race 1, had to retire at the beginning of the race due to a collision with Felipe Drugovitch and Juri Vips.
On his side, Théo Pourchaire delivered a strong performance after a difficult start to the race, eventually climbing up to 5th place with the bonus points for the fastest lap and some impressive overtakes to his name.
Robert Shwartzman therefore wins with over a 5-second lead over Dan Ticktum and Guanyu Zhou, while the Prema driver was discovering this track!
