Sergio Perez sanctioned for driving too fast in the pit lane
The Mexican driver was sanctioned by the FIA for committing a slight speeding infraction in the pit lane at the end of the second free practice session.

Sergio Perez was very fast today… a little too much even. After setting the fourth fastest time in this morning’s first practice session, the Mexican increased the pace this afternoon and set the fastest time of FP2.
Wanting to exploit the full potential of his Red Bull, Max Verstappen’s teammate was very fast, even in the pits. Indeed, the Mexican was caught red-handed for speeding in the pit lane.
Checked at a speed of 81.7 km/h, driver #11 exceeded the limit allowed by article 22.10 of the FIA by 1.7 km/h. As a result, his team received a fine of 200€.
Red Bull and Sergio Perez will however have the possibility to appeal this penalty, in accordance with Article 15 of the International Sporting Code of the FIA and Article 10.1.1 of the Judicial and Disciplinary Regulations of the FIA.
