51: The number of laps that drivers will have to complete during this Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

6,003: This is the exact length of the Baku City Circuit. The track is particularly known for its never-ending straight line measuring over 2 kilometers long.

1:40.495: The time achieved by Valtteri Bottas to secure pole position for the Grand Prix in 2019. It also represents the all-time track record lap.

5: If this weekend the F1 welcomes the fourth Azerbaijan Grand Prix in its history, it is actually the fifth race that F1 will compete in the streets of Baku.

Indeed, the track appeared on the calendar for the first time in 2016, under the banner of “European Grand Prix”. In 2020, the Grand Prix edition could not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

4: This number is the very symbol of this atypical circuit layout! In the four editions that have taken place, there have simply been four Le Mans poles and four different winners who have passed on the torch!

For the inaugural Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg authoritatively claims pole position and victory. In 2017, Lewis Hamilton secures pole position but a completely crazy race crowns Daniel Ricciardo.

Same scenario in 2018 where Sebastian Vettel takes pole position before having to give up the victory to Hamilton who came back like a bat out of hell. Finally in 2019, Valtteri Bottas breaks the curse and secures pole position and victory on this track.

Second behind Bottas, Hamilton allows Mercedes to achieve its 4th consecutive double in as many races that year, a new record in Formula 1, which will even extend to five by achieving the same result at the next race in Spain.

1: Baku has often been, throughout its short history, a land of firsts. Thus in 2017, Lance Stroll captured his first podium finish in the category to the general surprise in only his eighth Grand Prix! That day, he became the second youngest driver to step on the podium behind a certain Max Verstappen. It is also the last podium for the Williams team to date.

A year later, two more drivers will make their “debut”: Charles Leclerc and Brendon Hartley score their first points of their respective Formula 1 careers.

20: The number of turns on the Baku City Circuit.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place this Sunday starting at 2pm. Find all the schedules to know in the TV program .
