As the public gradually makes its return to the stands, the president of the Italian Automobile Club (ACI) hopes to see full grandstands at Monza.

This is indeed what Angelo Sticchi Damiani declared on Radio Rai Radio 1 station. « We can set up ‘no-Covid’ stands for vaccinated people and other people can then sit in stands that still have the distancing rules. These will then be filled at 50%. »

In these circumstances, the speed temple could then receive the public up to 80% of its total capacity.

Monza, a model for other races?

According to Formel1.de, discussions are still ongoing with the Ministry of Health concerning this project. Indeed, vaccinated individuals would then be placed in the same stands, without social distancing. They would not be able to come into contact with unvaccinated spectators, who would have to respect the social distancing rule.

If this project is approved, Monza could serve as a model for other Grand Prix events to welcome as many spectators as possible and put an end to this difficult period that circuits are going through.
