Aston Martin will support the LGBTQ+ community throughout the month of June
The English team, with their title partner Cognizant and the two drivers, will celebrate Pride month with social and community initiatives. The goal: to raise awareness for the diversity and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community.
Aston Martin announced on Twitter that it has partnered with Racing Pride. The initiative aims to support and provide resources around LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion within the organization and the wider motorsport community.
During the month of June, the team based in Silverstone will publish articles highlighting the strength of the LGBTQ+ community within the motorsport.
Aston Martin also specified that the Racing Pride logo will be present on both cars during the French Grand Prix on June 18, 19 and 20.
« It is great to see the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team support this cause,” Sebastian Vettel rejoiced. “There is a long way to go, but I am really happy that we can play a positive role.”
On his side, Lance Stroll added that this initiative « is an excellent way for us to support more broadly the Formula 1 #WeRaceAsOne initiative. I am delighted that our team has found its own way to add its support to a very credible program, embraced by all the teams in the paddock. »
The director of the British team, Otmar Szafnauer, declared that « The Aston Martin team is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community, and our partnership with Racing Pride allows us to pursue this ambition – for our staff on both a personal and professional level. »
