Like the quest for white smoke on the days of a new Pope’s election, Formula 1 observers are waiting for the first signs from Ferrari. The team’s first official statement was therefore eagerly awaited.

She should reassure the millions of tifosi who hope that Charles Leclerc will be able to start at the front in Sunday’s race: The first inspection of Charles Leclerc’s car gearbox revealed no serious damage. Further examinations will take place tomorrow to decide if the same gearbox will be used for the race.

Charles Leclerc therefore has a strong chance of being able to take advantage of his pole position, the first for a local driver since 1936. It’s perfect timing, he had planned a tribute helmet for this weekend! Let’s hope he can go all the way and eventually win while he has never had a glorious day on his home streets, either in F2 or F1.
