At the beginning of this weekend in Monaco, Günter Steiner, the boss of the HAAS team, had warned his two drivers:

Once on the rail, your session is over. You can’t go back with the car, and there are probably serious damages on it

They (the pilots) should take this race as extra experience. This track is difficult, in town. All spectators have their eyes fixed on you. The challenge is huge.

Warned in FP2, he once again comes out in FP3.

While one might think that these comments are more directed towards Nikita Mazepin who has been experiencing setbacks and gross errors since the beginning of the season. Hence his nickname “Mazespin”. It is clear that the Russian driver is rather convincing on this demanding track as well. He has managed to take into account the stakes for himself and his team and is committed to a linear and rather effective progression.

Thursday, at the end of FP2 Mick Schumacher caused a red flag by flirting with the barrier at Massenet. End of session for him but the damage is minor. He has been warned.

Today, at the end of FP3, the German driver is once again caught out. He loses the rear of his single-seater and damages it at the exit of the Casino.

The damage is too extensive, the chassis structure is affected, the sorrow is twofold for Mick Schumacher, he must forfeit the qualifications starting at 3:00 PM.
