In qualifying, the Monegasque driver delivered a very good performance by placing his Ferrari in 4th position. Since the beginning of this 2021 Formula 1 season, it’s the 3rd time in 4 Grand Prix that he achieves this performance.

After a very satisfying Saturday for the reds, Sunday started in the best way for Charles Leclerc who made an outside move on Valtteri Bottas at the third corner of the first lap. A sublime overtake that allowed him to move up to 3rd position.

Although keeping up with Verstappen and Hamilton was impossible for the double race winner, he managed to keep the Finn behind him until the moment he dived into the pits, where Bottas’ undercut deprived him of the podium.

A fourth place synonymous with 12 points for Leclerc and Ferrari who are in a fierce battle with the McLaren drivers for third place in the constructors’ standings.

It was a very good race. I had a good start, then I went outside in turn 3, which worked for us. Then we had a very solid race. Our pace was good on both the soft and medium tires. Unfortunately, fourth position was the best result we could achieve, but I am really happy because from the cockpit you can feel when you are doing a good job and that was the case today.

We were quite strong in the third sector, which is very technical. Let’s hope it’s a positive sign for Monaco. Since the beginning of the season, we seem to be strong in slow corners, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for it to stay that way. I’m really looking forward to taking part in my home race. Seeing fans there in the stands will be incredible, and I hope to be just as competitive there.

Once again, Leclerc has had a very good race this season. Starting the 2021 season with a 6th place, the Monegasque then followed up with a 4th place in Italy and a 6th place in Portugal. This consistency allows the Ferrari’s young prince to be in 5th position in the driver ranking, with only 1 point behind Norris.
