Trident retains Bent Viscaal for the 2021 Formula 2 season
Bent Viscaal will finally race the entire 2021 Formula 2 season for the Trident team, and he will be partnered with Japanese driver Marino Sato.

If the Dutch driver had only been retained to compete in the first race weekend in Bahrain, the Trident team seems to have been satisfied with his pace and has chosen to trust him for this 2021 season.
Indeed, the native of Albergen in the Netherlands has been able to show his skills in qualifying and in the race at the Sakhir circuit, always close to the points and to his experienced Japanese teammate. He also impressed his team by delivering a strong performance during the winter tests at the Barcelona circuit.
According to Giacomo Ricci, manager of the Italian «Trident Motorsport team, is extremely pleased to announce that Bent Viscaal will be with the team in the remaining seven rounds of the FIA Formula 2 Championship. During his first F2 meeting in Bahrain, he quickly merged with our team, which provided him with the maximum support possible while learning the ins and outs of the series, and he became increasingly competitive. A determined driver, we will do an excellent job and achieve outstanding results.
After two seasons in Formula 3 adorned with a victory, two podiums, and the fastest lap in the race, Bent Viscaal will surely be eager to beat his teammate who has been impatiently waiting in Formula 2 since 2019.

“I am very happy to join Trident for the rest of the season,” said Bent Viscaal. “It will be an absolutely amazing challenge. I look forward to doing it with the great Trident team.”
I think we have already made a lot of progress, and did many tests and races in Bahrain and I am looking forward to unleash our potential, to guarantee what we are capable of and generally the adventure.
