Bahrain Grand Prix: Sensational victory for Oscar Piastri in race 2
Formula 2 is inaugurating a new race format this weekend, after a rather dull first race, the sprint race 2 lived up to all expectations.

The rookies are causing a sensation this year, pushing the elites of the category to their limits. After Liam Lawson’s victory in race 1, another newcomer, Oscar Piastri, emerged victorious after a thrilling race 2.
If Alpine’s performances are modest in Formula 1, the French brand’s driver program placed its three drivers on the podium. Oscar Piastri, Christian Lundgaard, and Guanyu Zhou fought until the last lap for the top spot. The last lap was decisive for the victory; three drivers were vying for the top step of the podium and battled it out on the straight of the final lap. Guanyu Zhou was overtaken by his two teammates from the Alpine Academy Lundgaard and Piastri.
If they started at the back of the grid, the drivers Marcus Armstrong and Théo Pourchaire made an incredible comeback. The French driver consoles himself for his retirement from the day before with a fine 6th place under the checkered flag.
If he is on the podium, Jehan Daruvala will only get points for 4th place in the end. Christian Lundgaard, penalized by 10 seconds, has the points for 2nd place initially taken away and then reinstated. Race officials finally determined that the Dane had served his penalty during his pit stop.
The Australian Rookie, Oscar Piastri, therefore takes a fantastic victory in F2 ahead of Danish driver Marcus Lundgaard and Chinese driver Guan Yu Zhou.
