F1: watch out for cheats as the FIA introduces in-depth car checks
The FIA will carry out a detailed analysis of a random car after each Grand Prix.

Beware of cheating! An important modification was implemented this Saturday by the International Automobile Federation on the course of Grand Prix weekends.
The organization announces in a statement that it will randomly select a car at the end of each race. The chosen single-seater will be subject to thorough inspections by the officials.
What could alter the race standings? The FIA specifies that the technical delegate will publish a report, which will allow the stewards to establish the final classification of the Grand Prix.
According to the statement, “appropriate decisions” will be made by the commissioners in case of irregularities discovered on the cars. The FIA does not clearly mention penalties, but the risk of post-race sanctions will be higher for the teams!
No change indicated on the other weekend checks: the single-seaters will still be inspected in detail before Free Practice 1, and random weighing remains relevant during sessions and qualifications.
