Dan Ticktum extends his contract with Williams
Formula 2 driver Dan Ticktum will continue as a development driver for Williams in 2021.

After a promising 2020, Williams has decided to renew Dan Ticktum’s development driver contract for 2021. His role will be to help the Grove structure in developing the single-seater as best as possible so that the British team is no longer last in the constructors’ championship.
Dan Ticktum has spoken following this announcement:
« I am very happy to continue my adventure with Williams as a development driver. It will be fun to have more time on the track this year, as last year was quite tough, so it will be good to be more involved with the team on the track.
« I can’t wait to continue to provide my support in the simulation and I am very focused for this year. I still have a lot of work to do because my season has not started yet but I am privileged and very happy as always to represent Williams.
For all young drivers, being signed by a Formula 1 team as a development driver is an opportunity to learn a lot about how a Formula 1 team works and also to showcase their abilities in order to one day move from the simulator to the track.
Former member of the Red Bull young driver program, Dan Ticktum had not convinced Helmut Marko and the love story with the Red Bull brand had ended before the British driver even joined the Formula 1 feeder series.
So it was with Williams as a development driver that Dan Ticktum completed his first season in Formula 2 in 2020. Racing for the French team, Dams, he scored 96.5 points and finished the year in 11th position. The British driver had a good start to his campaign with 3 podium finishes in the first 8 races of the season including a victory at Silverstone in the sprint race.
However, it was necessary to wait until the last race of the season in Bahrain to see him back on the podium.
