That's what Bahrain's race management said on Friday evening: no electronically monitored limits for the rest of the weekend!

In Bahrain, the FIA placed its traditional electronic sensors on Friday at turn 4 of the Sakhir circuit to detect any crossing of the white line. This location on the track is preceded by a DRS straight (the second in the circuit order), where it is tempting to brake hard and explore the outside. Several drivers have indeed had their lap times removed during the two free practice sessions.

For the rest of the weekend, the FIA staff in charge of this monitoring work has nevertheless opted for easing. Electronic sensors are out, crossings beyond the line will be done… with the naked eye!

Goodbye electronic sensors, crossings beyond the line will be done… with the naked eye!

Turn 4 is delimited by artificial turf and gravel. It is from this visual marker that the race direction will penalize offending drivers.

Pilots will still have to stay on their guard or they may have to start their lap again.
