This was supposed to be a first: Williams wanted to innovate with a launch format that set the team apart from other teams, through a dedicated application. The meeting was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. local time (which is 3:00 p.m. in France).

But 57 minutes earlier, all hands on deck and an urgent press release was broadcast: the images of the FW43B were already online! Williams Racing had planned to unveil its 2021 single-seater, the FW43B, through a virtual reality application later today. Unfortunately, this application was hacked before the launch, so it will not be possible. We were looking forward to sharing this experience with our fans, especially in these difficult times when unfortunately it is not possible to provide physical experiences. Therefore, we can only apologize. It was therefore necessary to remove the application from the Apple and Android app stores to stop the bleeding.

Especially since the surprise is significant with a radical change compared to the last seasons. The goal was to recall the old liveries from the 1980s and 1990s when the team was at the peak of its performance. Therefore, shades of blue, white, and yellow dominate a single-seater that has very few sponsors, despite the change of ownership during the last season.
