The Portuguese Grand Prix returns to the F1 calendar
The Portuguese circuit has been confirmed as the third Grand Prix of the 2021 season, after a return in 2020 that won over drivers and spectators alike!

F1 is back at Portimao! The Portuguese Grand Prix will finally be the third race of the 2021 season. The Algarve circuit has been chosen to fill the vacant slot on the calendar.
We also know the date of the race: Sunday, May 2, 2021.
F1 had returned to Portugal in October 2020, after a 25-year hiatus. Lewis Hamilton secured a historic 92nd victory, becoming the sole record holder for the most wins in Grand Prix, surpassing Michael Schumacher.
It remains to be seen if there will be spectators in the stands, like last year. Formula 1 says that discussions are ongoing with the promoter and the Portuguese government. 27,000 spectators attended the Grand Prix in October 2020.
The addition of Portugal brings the total number of races on the 2021 calendar to 23. A record, if the epidemic doesn’t interfere.
