After 2 years of absence from the DTM, Red Bull returns with a team and cars that could well allow them to clinch the title and a well-known F1 driver: Alex Albon.

In 2021, the DTM cars are now GT3, the same cars used in the WEC, for example. For its grand return to DTM, Red Bull has partnered with the AF Corse team. The prestigious Italian team will supply the Austrian brand with Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020. Very competitive cars that have won several races in the World Endurance Championship.

One of the two Ferraris features the traditional colors of the Austrian brand with the famous red bull. The other car will sport the livery that the AlphaTauri cars had in 2020.

It is Liam Lawson who will drive the first car full-time. It should be noted that the New Zealander will also compete in Formula 2 in 2021. A busy schedule for the young 18-year-old driver.

As announced a few weeks ago, it is Alexander Albon, Formula 1 driver between 2019 and 2020, and Nick Cassidy who will drive the second car. The Super Formula and Super GT champion will also compete in Formula E for Virgin, replacing Sam Bird. They will alternate between races depending on each one’s availability.

The former Red Bull Racing driver, Alexander Albon, seems excited about this new challenge: The DTM is a great series with very talented drivers on the field and exciting races. There is a lot less downforce and the tires are very different [compared to Formula 1], so a different driving style is required. It will take some time to get used to it, but I am looking forward to a new racing challenge when I am available outside of my F1 commitments.
