Mercedes is preparing a surprise for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
For the final Grand Prix of the season, the Mercedes team has prepared a new livery for its two cars. More than just a design change, it is a gesture to thank all the employees who contributed to the German team's championship.

Mercedes’s livery has become a tool to convey messages and display the team’s moral commitment. At the Monaco Grand Prix in 2019, a red star was inserted on the back of the car as a tribute to Niki Lauda. A tribute to the former driver, who contributed to Mercedes’ success over the past 7 years.
At the beginning of 2020, Mercedes radically changed its color to support the fight against racism. Known for its Silver Arrow, in reference to the gray color of the car, Mercedes opted this season for a predominantly black car, to promote diversity and the fight against discrimination.
Today, Toto Wolff revealed that the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix car will have a new look to celebrate the team’s driver and constructor titles. This change concerns both cars. ‘We have a very special surprise for our team members this weekend,’ Toto Wolff affirmed.
At the Yas Marina circuit, cars will display the names of all team employees, those working on the tracks or at the factory. This attention to employees aims to honor the commitment and dedication of the staff in Brixton and Brackley. Everyone has worked hard this season to meet the challenge of this intense year…I hope this gesture will demonstrate the recognition we have for all those who contributed to it,” the executive director of the Mercedes team said in referencing the merit of his employees.
On a sports level, and despite the low stake on the final outcome of the season, Mercedes remains motivated to end the year on a high note and start the winter break serenely.
