190: It took his 190th Grand Prix start for Sergio Perez to finally step onto the top of the podium. The Racing Point driver climbs to the top of the rankings as the driver who has waited the longest to achieve his first victory. This record was previously held by Mark Webber with 130 GP.

50: It had been 50 years since the Mexican anthem had resounded for the podium ceremony of a Formula 1 Grand Prix. The last winner being Pedro Rodriguez at the 1970 Brazilian Grand Prix. The end of a long drought!

23: By stepping onto the podium for the first time with his second place, Esteban Ocon became the 23rd French driver to secure at least one podium in the premier category. But that’s not all…

1997: With Pierre Gasly’s victory at Monza, we had the privilege of seeing two different French drivers on a podium in F1 this season. We have to go back to 1997 with Olivier Panis and Jean Alesi to find similar statistics—23 years!

1: This was truly one of the highlights of the Sakhir Grand Prix. In addition to Perez’s first win and Ocon’s first podium, it is also Racing Point’s first double podium in F1. It also marks George Russell’s first fastest lap and his first laps leading a race. Less joyful, Lewis Hamilton’s withdrawal is also the first in his career in 265 GPs.

2012: For the first time in 8 years, two new drivers have achieved their first Formula 1 wins in the same season. Pierre Gasly and Sergio Perez follow in the footsteps of Nico Rosberg and Pastor Maldonado. But the reference to the 2012 season doesn’t end there…

13: Thanks to Esteban Ocon’s podium, we now have 13 drivers who have stood on the podium at least once this year, matching the number from 2012.

3: Despite a race filled with hurdles that should have been a straightforward victory, George Russell scored the first 3 points of his career with two points from 9th place combined with the point awarded to the driver who achieved the fastest lap.

2: It is only the second time this season that no Mercedes is present on the podium of a Grand Prix. The other Grand Prix was the one in Monza, marked by Pierre Gasly’s superb victory ahead of Carlos Sainz. Two is also the number of drivers making their F1 debut for this Grand Prix: Pietro Fittipaldi with Haas and Jack Aitken with Williams.

2001: Speaking of newcomers, it had been 19 years since F1 had two drivers making their first GP during the season. In 2001, Thomas Enge and Alex Yoong made their Grand Prix debut at Monza for Prost GP and Minardi respectively.
