9th at the start after a difficult qualification due to his damaged flat-floor, Pierre Gasly couldn’t secure his place in the points at the Sakhir GP.

The Normand’s race starts off well, however.

Helped by his soft tires, he gained 2 positions at the start and was consequently 7th when the safety car appeared on the first lap.

Behind his teammate Kvyat, he moves up to 6th on the 28th lap when the latter stops at the pits.

The number 10 imitates him and comes out 11th, now equipped with medium tires.

His position then evolves with the other pit stops until the 6th place on the 52nd lap, where he stops again as part of his two-stop strategy.

Coming out in the pack equipped with hard tires, he fights for the top 10 zone with a particularly nice battle won against Vettel for 11th place.

9th during the appearance of the 2nd safety car, the Alpha-Tauri driver hoping to finish in the points sees Lando Norris overtake him on the 85th lap, relegating him to the brink of the points.

Overtaken at the very end of the race by a rampant Russell, he finishes in a rather dull 11th place, barely helped by his two-stop strategy.

He couldn’t do anything against his teammate, who was ahead of him since the qualifying and finished in a nice 7th place.
