Review of Alonso’s 2 days of testing in Abu Dhabi
After Barcelona and Bahrain, Fernando Alonso has just participated in two days of testing with Renault on the Abu Dhabi track with the RS18 in a stunning black livery.

The two-time Formula 1 world champion and endurance world champion will make his return to the top category of motor racing next season with Alpine (the future name of Renault).
While awaiting this much-anticipated return, the Asturian driver is training hard with his future team. Very present at Enstone, in meetings with his future engineers or in the simulator, Alonso also got back on track by testing the RS18 a few weeks ago in Barcelona and Bahrain, and then in Abu Dhabi over the past two days as we announced last week.
These tests were very productive for both parties since the future Alpine driver completed 74 laps on Sunday and 116 on Monday aboard the RS18. Regulations require that the test car must be at least 2 years old.
A few words from the Spaniard about his feelings after these 2 days of testing:
« It was fantastic to be back in the car, feeling the speed of Formula 1 again with the 2018 car. But also learning a little about the team’s procedures. I enjoyed every lap. I can’t wait to make my race return next year, and in the meantime, I will support the team during the last Grand Prix.
