Turkish Grand Prix – Race: Hamilton winner, Hamilton champion
After a wild race, Hamilton claims a hard-fought victory ahead of Perez and Vettel. Leclerc finishes in 4th place. The Briton clinches his 7th world driver's championship title and becomes the equal of Michael Schumacher.

A 7th world championship title for Lewis Hamilton, who wins it with a victory at the Turkish Grand Prix! Under tension, the end of the race was marked by an intense battle for 2nd place, won by Sergio Pérez and Sebastian Vettel, 3rd, to complete the podium.
The Turkish Grand Prix actually started well before the official time. During his reconnaissance lap, Giovinazzi went off track and got stuck in the gravel. The Italian driver’s car was extracted with the driver inside, who managed to return to the pits with a damaged front wing. Russell also made a mistake, breaking his front wing in the pit entry lane.
Pierre Gasly was penalized on the grid, he started from the back of the grid while both Williams started from the pit lane. A constraint for Russell but a choice for Latifi.
Great start from the Racing Points who had a good launch while the Red Bulls were stuck. Incredible start from Hamilton and the Renaults who shot off like arrows. Hamilton on the inside forced Ricciardo to widen his trajectory. The latter collided with Ocon who spun out, taking Bottas with him. The best driver at the start was Vettel who, within 3 corners, moved up to 4th.
Hamilton’s mistake in the early laps allows Vettel and the Red Bulls to pass.
In the space of 3 laps, the Racing Points have put more than a 15-second gap with Vettel. The latter is acting as a roadblock and holding up a pressing Verstappen.
Leclerc was the first driver to pit for intermediate tires. Bottas, Hamilton, Vettel, Räikkönen, and Giovinazzi followed on the next lap. Stroll then Perez pitted while Verstappen stayed on track on wet tires. After his pit stop, the Dutchman came out ahead of Vettel and just behind Perez.
Giovinazzi’s retirement triggered the deployment of the virtual safety car. Upon restart, Albon quickly caught up to Hamilton and Vettel. He overtook both world champions after a mistake by the Briton and a clean pass on the German.
Verstappen climbed back strongly on Perez. Unfortunately, his too bold maneuver caused him to lose control of his car and he spun in a double spin. He went through the pits to put on new intermediate tires and came out 8th behind the battle between Ricciardo and Sainz.
At mid-race, Stroll was leading ahead of his teammate. Albon was a second behind, followed by Vettel, Hamilton, Ricciardo, Sainz, Verstappen, Leclerc, and Norris.
The performance of the intermediate tires is collapsing as the battle between the Racing Points is felt. Stroll has pitted to change tires while Perez and Hamilton stayed on track. The DRS has been activated by race control.
Battle among 4 drivers for 4th place. Vettel was putting pressure on Stroll, who went off track while defending. Meanwhile, Leclerc was maneuvering against Albon, which allowed both Ferrari drivers to pass the Canadian. The next lap, Albon took care of it, followed by Sainz the lap after. Big disappointment for Stroll, whose performance plummeted after his pit stop. Position change between Leclerc and Vettel. Sainz and the Monegasque are the two fastest drivers in the race and have caught up with Verstappen and the Ferraris.
Sainz overtook both Red Bulls. Third pit stop for Verstappen, who came out ahead of Stroll on intermediate tires. The Dutchman sacrificed his race with constant overdriving and mistakes that cost him dearly.
Symbolically, Hamilton lapped his teammate, his last rival in the world championship. Struggling since the start of the race, Bottas stagnated in the second half of the field.
Hamilton and Perez are managing their intermediate tires while both Ferraris have gained ground. The final laps are very tense! As Hamilton crosses the line as the winner, Leclerc overtakes Perez but a mistake at the penultimate corner costs him the podium, and it’s Vettel who finishes 3rd in this race.
