Major upheaval for the American team Haas: like Romain Grosjean, Kevin Magnussen will no longer be a Haas driver after the last Grand Prix of the year in Abu Dhabi!

The Dane also spoke on his social media to announce that the 2020 season will be his last with the Haas F1 Team.

Very corporate, Kevin Magnussen notably thanked the owner Gene Haas as well as Günther Steiner, the team principal of the American team. Also without a contract at the end of the season, no agreement has been found for the Danish driver, who joined the team in 2017. 73 Grand Prix contested in total and 96 points scored before the start of the Portuguese Grand Prix.

As with his garage neighbor, the F1 adventure is certainly coming to an end for Magnussen. There are only 2 seats truly available for next season: the 2 at Alfa Romeo, but “K-Mag” has never been mentioned in the list of drivers likely to join the team led by Frédéric Vasseur.

Kévin Magnussen was in any case thanked by his team, in a message addressed on the Haas team’s website.

Notably, the 2018 season for Magnussen at Haas stood out, with a 9th place in the drivers’ championship and 11 finishes in the points. His best results were two 5th places, achieved that year in Bahrain and Austria. Magnussen then helped the team finish in a commendable 5th place in the constructors’ championship. His departure marks the end of an era and a 4-season collaboration with Grosjean. Only Mercedes had a similar longevity with its driver duo over the same period!
