70th Anniversary Grand Prix – Ocon penalized 3 places on the grid
Esteban Ocon has been penalized by 3 grid places for the start of Sunday's race following his dangerous maneuver during qualifying, hindering George Russell during his fast lap.

After reviewing the facts, the FIA commissioners decided to penalize Esteban Ocon following his dangerous maneuver during the qualifying session.
At the exit of turn 5, Giovinazzi was leading three cars and was on a fast lap, Ocon was next on a cool-down lap, and Russell was on an attack lap. As Russell approached, the team informed Ocon over the radio about Giovinazzi coming, but informed him about Russell’s presence too late. When Russell approached the two cars ahead, Ocon pulled to the right to overtake Giovinazzi and clearly impeded the much faster Russell.
The team admitted that it did not adequately support its driver in this maneuver.
The driver, interviewed at the end of the session, stated that he had not been informed of Russell’s rapid arrival and did not contest the logical sanction to come.
The Frenchman also receives a point on his license.
Qualified in 11th, the Renault driver will start from 14th position.
