Official: Three new Grand Prix removed from the 2020 calendar
At a time when drivers are getting back their feel in the cockpit, the F1 stakeholders are trying to salvage a 2020 calendar disrupted by the coronavirus crisis. While several Grand Prix races such as Monaco and France have already been canceled, today F1 announced that the list will be extended.

We know that F1 is trying to save its season by developing an alternative schedule that is normally set to begin on July 5 in Austria. After revealing its European calendar last week, Liberty Media and other F1 stakeholders are considering how to organize the Asian and American schedule.
Three new Grand Prix have been added to the list of events removed from the 2020 calendar. Baku long held onto the hope of hosting its Grand Prix in the streets of its capital, but its geographical distance and organizing a race on an urban circuit have definitively dashed the organizers’ hopes.
Monaco and its mythical circuit had already had to give up organizing the F1 event in the streets of the principality, and Baku had to resign itself to the same fate, as did Singapore. Indeed, a flagship event on the calendar by taking place at night through the city streets, Singapore must also withdraw from the 2020 calendar. Finally, it is also announced that the Suzuka Grand Prix will be absent this year, a first since 2008.
Other Grand Prix races are also expected to announce their withdrawals from the 2020 calendar, including Canada and Vietnam. F1 will have a hard time exporting outside of Europe this year. That is why several options are being considered to follow the Italian Grand Prix, which is scheduled to be held in Monza on September 6th. Several names are regularly mentioned, such as Mugello (which is owned by Ferrari), Imola in Italy, and Hockenheim in Germany.
