The French Grand Prix will not take place in 2020
In connection with the ban on all sporting events until mid-July, the promoters of the French Grand Prix have confirmed the outright cancellation of the event for this season.

The constraints were too significant for the organizers: even if F1 had opted for a closed-door event to not compromise the health of the public and teams, major sporting and cultural events remain prohibited in France until mid-July. Therefore, it was not possible to maintain the initially scheduled date of June 28, especially when adding the uncertainty about the opening of hotels and restaurants and the closure of the Schengen area.
While it should have been his first Grand Prix as general manager, Eric Boullier is therefore forced to officially announce the complete cancellation of the event for this season: Given the evolution of the situation related to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the French Grand Prix acknowledges the decisions announced by the State making it impossible to maintain our event. The GIP Grand Prix de France – Le Castellet is already looking towards the summer of 2021 to offer our spectators an even more unique event in the heart of the Southern Region.
For all ticket holders of the 2020 French Grand Prix, the refund procedures will be specified soon on the website www.gpfrance.com. The promoter is committed to facilitating the refund of each ticket and any additional services sold on its site (camping, shuttle, parking).
