The Pitlane Project of English teams to fight against the coronavirus
In order to combat the coronavirus, the seven English teams have decided to respond to the British government's call to develop and manufacture new ventilators.

Most F1 teams are currently in a summer break period, which was finally moved to this time in March and April due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus health crisis.
However, some of the engineers from these teams are on deck to combat another adversary: the coronavirus. Indeed, the government has called on all industries in the country to try to quickly produce new ventilators, which are essential for patients in intensive care due to the said virus.
To do this, the seven teams on British soil (Haas, McLaren, Mercedes, Racing Point, Renault, Williams) have launched the Pitlane project, in which they will combine their strengths to reverse the problem: start from the finished product and find new manufacturing solutions. The aim is to draw on the teams’ expertise in prototype design and, above all, precision manufacturing, which is essential in the medical field.
Fans are the first case they will jointly focus on, but they declare themselves ready to contribute to any other issue where their technological expertise can help. It is therefore gratifying to see normally rival teams come together when the cause goes beyond just recreational sports.
