For two hours, you couldn’t afford to take a bathroom break if you wanted to properly follow the LMP2. The category led to an exceptional battle, marked by incessant position changes. Sometimes at the cost of a few maneuvers.

Hostilities began after fifteen minutes of racing. United Autosports, having started in the lead, made a small mistake and fell to third place. Meanwhile, Jackie Chan DC Racing, under pressure, spun out. Cool Racing took the lead with Nicolas Lapierre at the wheel. After 35 minutes of racing, it was time for the second round. With a risky maneuver, marked by an off-track excursion, Guido Van Der Garde and the Racing Team Netherlands took third place from Andre Negrao’s Alpine. The Dutch team then narrowly took the lead thanks to a quicker pit stop.

First major plot twist after 1h30 of racing. The Alpine, which had just taken the lead, saw its brake disc explode. By the time it returned to the pit and changed the part, it lost a lap. A good move for the Racing Team Netherlands, in front. But the driver change allowed United Autosport to quickly take the lead in the race, after 1h50.

A few minutes later, Ho Pin Tung and Jackie Chan DC Racing took the lead in turn, while Frits Van Eerd at the wheel of Racing Team Netherlands’ Oreca was hit by Gonzalez and his Jota.

The pace then calmed down, but the race remains open.

LMP1: Rebellion not so quiet

For an hour and a half, the outcome seemed largely understood. The order remained the same as it had since the start of the weekend. Rebellion was ahead of Toyota #8 and then #7, each time with a significant gap. But Gustavo Menezes, driving the Rebellion, encountered difficulties during his stint, which allowed Toyota to catch up and hold within thirty seconds. Rebellion remained within shooting distance, and Toyota briefly took the lead during pit stops.

GTE-Pro: Aston Martin on Top

Leading the championship, Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen are dominating the race. In GT language, that means about fifteen seconds ahead after three hours of racing. They are leading their teammates Maxime Martin and Alex Lynn in the #97 and the Porsche #92 of Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen. Five cars are still really in contention. The AF Corse Ferrari #71, which had a bumpy ride over curbs, is a bit further back. As for the Corvette, it is out of the running and is primarily here to prepare for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

GTE-AM: Team Project 1 goes it alone

In GTE-Am, the #56 of Team Project 1 has been leading comfortably since the start. Behind, only Aston Martin Racing seems capable of challenging for the victory, driven by Dalla Lana, Ross Gunn, and Darren Turner. In third position is the AF Corse #83 with Collard, Perrodo, and Nielsen.
