Haas is the first team on the grid to present its 2020 livery. But where is the novelty?

Following the departure of Haas’s controversial title sponsor, Rich Energy, the American team has decided to return to its base colors of white, red, and black. For several weeks now, this return to Haas’s original three colors had been teased on social media through the comeback of the red and black logo.

We find a livery very similar to that of 2018, except that the gray color is no longer present on the car. The big change is at the front where the front wing is no longer completely black but has white and red added to the last two flaps. As for the car’s nose, it is no longer red and gray but predominantly white, which better highlights the driver’s number and some team sponsors. The rear wing is no longer black but red. The whole ensemble is reminiscent of what the now-defunct Marussia offered in the past.

Haas maintains a close partnership with Ferrari, allowing them to purchase certain parts from the Italian team. In the images of the VF20 released by Günther Steiner’s team, one can already see a front wing very similar to the one used by Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel in 2019. With the 2020 cars being almost the same as those from 2019, this partnership could greatly benefit Haas, which needs to recover after finishing second to last in the championship last year with only 28 points scored.
