By winning its sixth consecutive constructors’ and drivers’ championships, Mercedes further cements its place in the sport’s history. It is the only team to have achieved this feat.

The German team scored a total of 739 points this season, which is their second-best score after the record 765 points accumulated in 2016.

The FIA has slightly increased the points-based fees over the past two years, meaning that Mercedes has to pay more than ever for its entry in F1 in 2020, even though it scored fewer points than in 2016.

For the 2020 season, the fee per point is $6,677 (€6,013) for the world champion team, while its rivals will have to pay $5,563 (€5,010) per point.

The overall registration fees for Mercedes therefore amount to $5,490,812 (€4,945,229) for the 2020 season. Ferrari, on the other hand, will only have to pay $3.3M (€2.97M). Conversely, Williams, which is last in the constructors’ standings with just one point in the championship this season, will have to pay $562,072 (€506,223).
