Red Bull champion, Williams on the podium, summary of the pit stop competition
Red Bull received today the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award, a trophy rewarding the most efficient team at pit stops following their outstanding performance at the Brazilian GP.

After successfully breaking the world record for the fastest pit stop three times this season, Red Bull set a benchmark below the symbolic 2-second mark. The change of Max Verstappen’s four tires in Brazil was executed in 1.82 seconds. These synchronized stops throughout the season earned the Austrian team the pit stop championship title for the second consecutive year.
Assured of finishing as champions, the trophy was celebrated today at the Red Bull garage on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The surprise of this parallel championship is the Williams team. The team indeed plays in the second category in the world drivers and constructors championship, with only 1 point earned throughout the season, but the performance of the pit crew has been impressive and earned Claire Williams’ team second place ahead of the top-table teams Mercedes and Ferrari.
This second place is a source of pride for Claire Williams, who recalled in a press conference that these are the best memories she has of this season « … my best memory, as you might guess, wasn’t on the track. The team showed great motivation and fought until the end as if they were fighting for the podium. And for me, that is a highlight of this season ».
