The pessimistic weather forecasts could force the organizers of the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend to postpone Sunday's race to avoid Typhoon Hagibis, which could hit the south of the country violently this Sunday.

The Japanese Grand Prix, with the first practice sessions starting on Friday, could be disrupted by dreadful weather conditions.

Indeed, Typhoon Hagibis is heading straight towards Japan and it could intensify in the coming hours. Forecasters are predicting that it could reach Japan between Saturday night and Sunday morning, thus threatening the holding of the race.

The organizers may then be forced to postpone the race to Monday in order to offer the drivers and teams acceptable safety conditions. The coming days and the development of the typhoon, which doesn’t seem to be decreasing in intensity, will therefore be crucial.
