Liberty is not in talks with any new team
While new teams have applied, Liberty Media has denied holding serious discussions to bring new teams onto the grid.

For a few weeks, several different projects have appeared in the media. The latest would be the one led by the Spanish F2 and F3 team Campos Racing, which is said to have partnered with the investment fund Monaco Increase Management to make the big leap by 2021.
Indeed, the anticipated technical and commercial revolution for this deadline includes the introduction of a capped budget to enhance the discipline’s competitiveness. This principle had already attracted numerous projects in 2010, which materialized with the arrival of HRT, Marussia, and Lotus. However, this budget limit was never implemented, leading to the successive bankruptcies of these different teams.
Now listed on the American stock exchange, F1 made it clear that no discussions are currently taking place: Following the public announcement by several entities to participate in the F1 World Championship starting in 2021, even though F1 appreciates their interest, we can confirm that we are not having any serious discussions with any person or company to bring in a new team.
It is thus important to remember that if new teams join, it will be at the expense of the other teams since they are currently sharing funds based on their performance. Any new team that joins will therefore reduce the share of the others. To compensate, Liberty Media is considering introducing a minimum fee for any new team, which would contribute to the common pool and thus partially offset the losses of the other teams.
