Singapore: Flashback 2018 and Winner Predictions
Singapore will shine brightly this weekend for the 15th event of the 2019 season. An opportunity for the Motors Inside editorial team to briefly review the previous edition and share its prediction for Sunday's race.

2018 in a nutshell: Lewis Hamilton’s unrivaled dominance
The 2018 Singapore Grand Prix was likely one of the most impressive displays of mastery by Lewis Hamilton, who dominated all 61 laps without letting his rivals lead for even a single one.
However, Ferrari did try to counter the Mercedes driver’s forward march with an aggressive strategy and an early pit stop, aiming for an undercut. But bad luck (or miscalculations) caused Sebastian Vettel, who started 3rd on the grid, to come out behind Sergio Pérez’s Force India, costing him precious time and allowing Hamilton to cover his rival’s strategy by pitting a lap later.
However, skilled at the start with his overtaking of Max Verstappen who started from the front row, Sebastian Vettel saw the Dutchman overtake him again during the first pit stop, thus freezing the top six positions at the finish, identical to the top six on the starting grid.
On its side, Mercedes reportedly impressed on a circuit that is traditionally not favorable to them. Hamilton indulged in the luxury of improving the track record by more than three seconds on Saturday during the qualifying sessions.
The other standout event of this otherwise fairly calm race will be the umpteenth collision after the start between Sergio Pérez and Esteban Ocon, an incident reminiscent of their clash in Baku in 2017.
The Editors’ Prediction:
The editorial team is unanimous on the subject of pole position; it should not elude Lewis Hamilton! For the victory, the Briton is once again cited as the favorite with three of our writers seeing him as the winner, against two favoring a success for Max Verstappen, and only one believing in a comeback for Sebastian Vettel.
The Ferraris could, however, be on the podium, at least Charles Leclerc’s, who often returns with Valtteri Bottas as a contender for one of the remaining spots on the box… where a certain Alex Albon could shine according to the wildest bettors!
