Gasly faces his demotion “My goal remains Red Bull”
Deprived of his seat at Red Bull during the summer break, Pierre Gasly arrives in Belgium having digested the news. The goal now is to do his best during the second half of the season with Toro Rosso.
After an unsatisfactory start to the season, the Frenchman had bounced back and shown his team that he was capable and competent at the wheel of the Red Bull. At Spa this Thursday, the unfortunate Frenchman expressed himself: Yes, I was disappointed with the decision. The talk was that I would race until the end of the year, and it’s something I believed. There are positives to take from the first part of the season, and now we need to build on the next nine races.
He insisted on stating the facts clearly « I have digested the announcement. I am rested and ready to give my all with Toro Rosso to deliver the best possible results for them. », while reminding that a change of car requires time to find one’s bearings « The Toro Rosso will be different from the one I drove last year, already due to the regulatory change. There will be a period of adaptation, it’s up to me to ensure that this time is as short as possible. ».
Despite this abrupt demotion, Pierre Gasly remains focused on his future within the Yes structure. Today, my goal remains Red Bull. They are the ones who brought me here, they are the ones who brought me to F1. I have a contract with them, so my future remains centered on Red Bull.
