Lewis Hamilton 1st:

Hunter for almost the entire race, the reigning World Champion did not expect to be called in for a second stop. He shared with us a team race where the victory was decided by the strategy set by his team.

Good winner, he acknowledges Max Verstappen’s performance.

Sensational race from Max today as he has been in his recent races. Once equipped with the hard tires, I expected to go all the way, but I didn’t have enough grip. The team told me we were going to attempt a second stop, and I wondered how that could work. But from the car, I have a different perspective than the team. I felt like I had to climb a wall from my single-seater, but the team was relaxed, and it was the right decision.

Max Verstappen 2nd:

After a strong start, the Dutchman managed his race perfectly. The factors that led to his 2nd position were beyond his control, and he quickly realized that he would lack grip at the end of the race. Realistically, he knows that the situation during the race sometimes facilitates certain decisions:

« When you’re in 2nd place, you can gamble on another stop, for me it was more complicated I had to cover my lead. In his case [for Lewis] the deal was simple, in the worst case he remains 2nd and at best he overtakes me. I’m happy to have set the fastest lap, the point might count at the end of the season»

Sebastian Vettel 3rd:

Difficult race for the German who knew from the start they wouldn’t be up to par. Attempting an offbeat strategy hoping for a safety car, which never came, thus washing away his chances of seeing Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton again.

It was very hard for us with unfavorable conditions until the end. Of course, we tried to do something different after Charles’ stop by staying on track 15 laps longer, hoping for a safety car. I tried everything I could, and in the end, 3rd or 4th doesn’t change much for the team. We just weren’t fast enough to keep up with the pace at the front.
